Builder of the Year Award, 2008

Each year, the Northern Wasatch Home Builder's Association presents one builder with the Builder of the Year award. This award goes to a builder that exemplifies generosity, caring, and giving of themselves to our community. This year, this highly esteemed honor was given to Bruce Nilson, owner and president of Nilson Homes.

Many volunteer and charitable projects were noted during the presentation of the award. Such projects include the Have a Heart Home, a charitable home built for a special needs family. In 2007, Nilson Homes finished a Have a Heart home and had the pleasure of presenting the keys to the new home owner. Bruce Nilson was so moved by the experience that he immediately volunteered to build the next Have a Heart home, which is now in final stages of construction and expected to be completed in December of 2008. Also mentioned was the countless hours and efforts spent by Bruce Nilson on behalf of Nilson Homes to unite the Home Builder's Association members, and Bruce's passionate belief that in the current economic climate, leadership and teamwork is key to success.

Bruce Nilson is an example of positive leadership. His dedication to his work and commitment to provide the best quality homes possible set him apart from other builders. These qualities and his concern for others make Bruce Nilson a most deserving recipient of this award. Everyone at Nilson Homes congratulates Bruce on this great honor and accomplishment!

Good Neighbor Award, 2008

Bruce Nilson, President of Nilson Homes was recently awarded the Good Neighbor Award for 2008. The Purpose of the Good Neighbor Award is to recognize someone who has made an exceptional contribution to his community. Bruce Nilson President of Nilson Homes has gone above and beyond in his work this past year.

Nilson Homes and their trade partners have helped build not just one, but Two Have a Heart Homes. Because of their Herculean efforts, two families have now realized the American Dream of owning their own homes - a blessing that may never have come to fruition without the selfless efforts of Bruce Nilson.

Questar Gas – Gold Level Award

Nilson Homes had the honor of being presented the Gold Level Builder Recognition Award from Questar Gas for outstanding participation in the Thermwise Builder Rebates Program. Very few builders have the honor of receiving this award, and Nilson Homes is proud of this accomplishment. ENERGY STAR for Homes Leadership in Housing Awards

Nilson Homes has received the ENEREGY STAR award for Homes Leadership in Housing in 2008 and 2009 for building more than 250 ENERGY STAR qualified homes in the past year.
